The Bridge Between Two Worlds
A Shaman's View of Schizophrenia & Acute Sensitivity
by Odette Nightsky
The word 'Shaman' originates from Siberia, a Tungus word for excited spirited person, or one that walks between the worlds. Shamans or those that walk the path follow the laws of nature both in spirit and in form. Shamanism is not a religion, its a way of life and is akin to Paganism and Buddhism. A shaman is one who has walked the path of the adventurer through the otherworlds (dimensions) and has returned from the other side more whole and in service to the community at large. Not anyone can be a shaman, however we are all able to walk the path of the shaman and gain valuable tools to assist us in surviving the more dark and challenging times of our lives. The Path of the Shaman teaches us to stay balanced and grounded on this earth, to honour and understand the laws of nature and to keep our core self whole. Walking the Shamans path is a wonderful adventure once you learn the laws and tools to keep you protected whilst on your journey.
