A Happier Me

"Always remember:
Joy is not merely incidental to your spiritual quest,
it is vital."
-- Rebbe Nachman of Breslow

In the demanding world we live in, we are bombarded by images of what we should look like, how we should act, who we should be. In addition, everyone seems to be demanding our time and attention, leaving precious little time for self-reflection. In this environment, it is easy to loose oneself and loose ones self-esteem.

If you feel like you're at the end of your rope, and don't know what to do - stop, take a deep breath, and realize you must take care of yourself first. Give yourself time to be you, listen to your inner-voice and find your inner joy. In this section you'll find resources to help you find yourself, and be a healthier, happier you.

Growing Up Emotionally
Most of us can remember the day we grew up. It was the day our parents did us the favor of being so unreasonable that we said good-bye to our dependence on them forever and entered into the adult world of choices.

Happiness Is An Inside Job
Happiness is within your reach, however, the key is to reach inward, not outward to find it.

How Do You Feel About Yourself?
Recognizing Signs of High and Low Self-Esteem

One of the most skipped steps in the healing process is to love yourself. It requires recognizing and addressing the negative feelings you have about yourself.

Personal Freedom
Some of us are slaves to other people, especially spouses and employers. Others are slaves to our own beliefs and desires.

Self Love
Almost all emotional problems indicate a lack of self-love. Nobody is self-loving all of the time! Self-loving people tend to see themselves as a whole when they look into a mirror.

Self-Esteem: In A Culture Where Winning Is Everything and Losing Is Shameful
If we can just raise self-esteem, might we not prevent a great many social problems, as by a public health campaign to lower cholesterol we prevent many health problems?

Steps for Taking Back Your Life
Take a weekend just for yourself. Wear only comfortable clothes. Turn off the computer, the phone, the cell phone. Have a brand, new journal and pen ready. This is your time.

Taking Care of Yourself
Self-care means always taking full responsibility for our own safety and warmth. Each part of this definition needs to be looked at carefully.

The Positive Aspects of Guilt
It takes a determination to do better next time to allow us to put guilt away. Next time we may fail again, but if we truly wish to change our behavior, eventually we will succeed.
